UPDATE: Xabiso Mngcongo handed himself over to police in Makhanda after his photograph went viral on social media.
Eastern Cape police have offered a reward of up to R50,000 for information that could assist in locating a person of interest sought in connection with at least four murders.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli says the 34-year-old Xabiso Mngcongo is wanted for questioning in connection with at least four murder cases that were committed between November 2022 and June 2024 in Kwazakhele in Gqeberha and Joza, Makhanda.
He says most of the victims were not armed, and one was a retired police officer.
Several attempts to track down Mngcongo were not successful; therefore, a cash reward is offered.
Anyone who may be able to assist in the investigation or may have information about the whereabouts of Xabiso Mngcongo is requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Barend Lensley, on 082 442 3747
