A 44-year-old shop owner was kidnapped in front of his business in Darling Street, North End, by a group of about five men on Friday morning.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says when the victim stopped with his white BMW at his business premises, a blue VW Polo arrived and stopped behind him.
He says the shop owner was then taken out of his vehicle by force and pushed into the Polo.
Beetge says both vehicles then left the scene.
A kidnapping case was opened and is being investigated by SAPS Mount Road.
