Gqeberha police are investigating the murder of a man who was shot dead in his car while driving on the R75 on Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said detectives from SAPS Kwadwesi have been assigned to probe the murder of 40-year-old Peter Baatjies.
She said he was travelling in his SUV in the direction of Kwadwesi when a vehicle drove alongside his car and the occupants opened fire.
“At the intersection of the R75 and Chelsea Road the driver collided with a stationary truck. He died on the scene.
“The motive and the suspects are unknown, and the investigation is ongoing,” Janse Van Resnburg said.
