Police in Gqeberha identified the couple who was killed on Tuesday while walking their staffie.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said the 42-year old Manfred Meyer, his 39-year-old wife Leigh and their pet were killed when the driver of a Volkswagen Gold TDI suffered a medical condition while driving on Warbler Street in the direction of Westering just before 6.30 pm.
She said a case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
The driver was taken to hospital but his condition is unknown.
Janse van Rensburg said the family requested time to grieve, asking the media not to contact them during this difficult time.
The investigation is ongoing.
