The man accused of the murder of Bay mother Vanessa van Rensburg made a brief appearance in the Humansdorp Magistrates Court on Monday.
The 58-year-old businessman and co-owner of Algoa Plastics, Rob Evans, is charged with van Rensburg’s murder.
Evans was arrested at work on Friday after the Bay mother's lifeless body was found in his’ holiday home in Oyster Bay in the early morning hours of Easter Sunday.
Police said previously that van Rensburg succumbed to multiple injuries.
The matter was then remanded to Friday for a formal bail application.
The state is opposing bail.
The 36-year-old Van Rensburg and Evans were romantically involved while she also worked for his company.
