Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of Gqeberha mother Vanessa van Rensburg.
The 58-year-old businessman and former EP rugby player was arrested on Friday morning.
Vanessa's body was discovered in the early hours of Easter Sunday, inside her boyfriend's holiday home in Oyster Bay.
The mother of two sustained multiple injuries and was declared dead by EMS on the scene.
A family member who spoke to Algoa FM News said, "We as the family are just relieved that an arrest has been made and that justice will finally be served for our dear Vanessa. We all love and miss her dearly, and her memory will always be treasured. She will forever be in our hearts."
Captain Marius McCarthy confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
"The suspect is due to appear before the Humansdorp Magistrate court when charged," he said.
It's understood this could take place on Monday.
