Teen who peeped through window killed with water bottle

A woman has been arrested for allegedly killing a teenage boy in Cornubia, north of Durban.

It's understood that the woman threw a five-litre bottle of water at the 16-year-old, striking him on the head.

Emergency responders later found his body in a neighbour’s yard.

According to the local security company, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the woman claimed to have thrown the bottle after catching the boy peeping through her kitchen door.

SAPS spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says the woman is facing a charge of murder.

"Police in Verulam have arrested a 48-year-old woman for murder following an incident in which a 16-year-old boy was allegedly killed at Cornubia on 30 June 2025. The suspect is due to appear before Verulam Magistrate’s Court on 2 July."
