No COVID-19 lockdown in SA as yet - Presidency

Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa will not be announcing a COVID-19 lockdown yet.

His spokesperson, Khusela Diko, poured cold water over rumours on Saturday that the President would be calling for a total shutdown.

Diko said Ramaphosa would be meeting with the National Command Council on Sunday to assess the implementation of directives announced last week.

Only after this meeting, will it be decided when Ramaphosa would address the nation.
