The SAPS has confirmed to the media that its investigation into the disappearance of three Constables from Bloemfontein has led them to the Hennops River in Centurion along the N1.
National Spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said three bodies have so far been recovered, while a search for a fourth person is underway.
She said she could not confirm whether the deceased were the missing officers as their families must first identify them.
Brigadier Mathe asked for respect for the families and loved ones as the mystery continues to unfold.
"Let us prioritise humanity, empathy, and integrity over the urgency to break news," she said.
On Sunday, police offered a reward of R350,000 for any information on the whereabouts of the three police constables who have been missing since last Wednesday.
SAPS Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, announced the reward on Sunday during a briefing.
The missing officers, Constable Linda Cebekhulu (24), Constable Keamogetswe Buys (30), and Constable Boipelo Senoge (20), were travelling from Bloemfontein to Limpopo in a white VW Polo sedan with registration number JCL 401 FS.
They were last spotted at an Engen garage near the Grasmere toll plaza on the N1 highway, after which their tracking device and phones were switched off.
National police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola will brief the media on Tuesday afternoon.
