Blankets for Animals drive starts today. Hosted by Pets in Need - South Africa and Furever Cats – George, the teams hopes with your help to collect 1000 blankets that will assist Odin (Oudtshoorn Diere in Nood), George SPCA, CAT - feral and rescue cat rescues and Sedgefield Animals Matter. This blanket drive continues till the 19th of October.More here

From Friday the 27th to Sunday the 29th is The Big Bug and Dinosaur Expo in George. Each day opens at 10 AM at the Outeniqua Train Museum.

The next Know Your Bay will take place on Monday 30 September at Bayworld from 17:30 for 18:00 and showcases some of the natural heritage of our bay. Prof Nadine Strydom & Dr Gavin Rishworth, both from the Department of Zoology of Nelson Mandela University, will present “Ecology of the Baakens River and Estuary with emphasis on fishes and their future” and “Treasure in sludge: our Bay’s living heritage boosted by its “newest” habitat, the stromatolites”.  More here
