Climate Change & Unemployment. A discussion focusing on combating Climate Change and Unemployment in South Africa with a particular reference to the One Million Climate Jobs Campaign.

Doccie Friday

Starting this Friday, Fridays are dedicated to STEM Documentaries, calling them “DOCCIE FRIDAYS”. The team will watch a National Geographic documentary called Dinos: True Colours where Scientist build a new picture of what dinosaurs actually looked like, how they behaved, etc.

Starts at 2 PM – 3:30 PM at Nelson Mandela Bay Science & Technology Centre, Uitenhage

Weekly Seminars at the ELRC are back this Friday from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM at the Environmental Learning Research Centre in Lucas Avenue, Makhanda

Sanccob EC Monthly Beach Clean-Up is back this Saturday from 9am to 11am. Meet at Sanccob.

Sunset Hikes 2019 this Saturday at Falcon Rock. It will be a tough 1, so familiarity of this trail is a must as the team search for “The Smiths Dwarf Chameleon”. An endangered & highly protected species found nowhere else in the world but the Van Stadens Mountain range. Meet up is at 4:10pm

The Nomadic Oasis host a Yoga event for the Oudtshoorn Dogs in need under their giant oak tree. This will be from 11 to 12 noon and 50% of proceeds will go to ODIN.

African Snake Bite Institute hosts 2 Snake Awareness events this weekend. On the 18th at The Venom Pit Snake Park East London and on the 19th at the Walmer Scout Hall, Port Elizabeth. Internationally renowned author and herpetologist Johan Marais will be talking First aid for a Snakebite and Venomous Snake Handling, plus loads more. The day starts at 9am to 4pm

BIRDLIFE EASTERN CAPE has an all day outing on Saturday to Komdomo and Grootrivierspoort (beginning of the Baviaanskloof Wilderness area, near Patensie). Ross Zietsman leads the search for the Scaly-throated Honeyguide, Half-collared Kingfisher and more. Book your seat.

The George Schnauzer Friends Fun Walk takes place this Sunday from 4pm to 6pm at the George Botanical Gardens.
