PE mandrax bust - Update

Eastern Cape police said four of the five suspects, who were arrested in Humewood, Port Elizabeth on drug dealing charges on Thursday night, have been released due to insufficient evidence.

Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana said the fifth suspect, was charged and taken to court on Friday.

"The case was provisionally withdrawn pending forensic report and the investigation continues," he said.

In an earlier statement, Eastern Cape police said they had found 16 bags containing more than 13 000 mandrax tablets valued at over R100 000 during a raid at a house in Humewood.
