Port Elizabeth police have arrested three suspects after a man was robbed in his Kabega Park home early on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said that the arrests were made by members of the PE K9 unit after receiving information about the house robbery.
"It is alleged that on Wednesday, 11 July 2018 at about 02:50, a 27-year man heard a noise outside his front door in Masson Street in Francis Evert Park in Kabega Park," she said.
"When he opened the door, a 22-year-old female known to him was at the door. As he opened the security gate, two other males entered the house. One male produced a firearm and the complainant was tied up with electrical cords," Naidu said.
She said the suspects fled with the man's vehicle, cell phone and flat-screen TV.
"He managed to free himself and alert police. About twenty minutes later, PE K9 unit spotted the vehicle at the Caltex garage in Cape Road. Two suspects, the female and a 38-year-old male were arrested. A .22 pistol was found in the woman's possession and the stolen cell phone on the male suspect. The TV was found in the car," she said.
Naidu said the third suspect was arrested at his parents home at St Albans prison on Wednesday morning.
She said all three will appear in court on Friday.
