Eastern Cape police have confirmed that two White Rhino have been shot, killed and dehorned at Shamwari Private Game Reserve near Port Elizabeth.
It is unclear when the incident exactly happened but it is suspected that it happened a few days ago.
Colonel Sibongile Soci said in a statement that both horns had been removed from the adult cow and only one from the calf.
Acting Eastern Cape Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Andre Swart, said they continue to urge game owners to be vigilant and check their game regularly.
He said good leads were found at the scene and are being followed up which they hope will lead them to the suspects soon.
Its the third rhino poaching incident in the region in the past two weeks after a rhino was killed in the Kirkwood area on the 21st of June and another at Kragga Kamma game reserve in Port Elizabeth a week later.
