Six alleged drug traffickers have been arrested in Port Elizabeth following a year-long investigation by the Eastern Cape Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit in Port Elizabeth and Provincial Crime Intelligence.

Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the suspects aged between 29 and 46 are all foreign nationals.

They'll appear in the PE Magistrate's court on Friday on charges of dealing in drugs in 13 separate cases in the Humewood and Mount Road areas.

At one of the suspect’s houses in Walmer, police confiscated tik and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of over R450 000 during Wednesday's bust.

Twelve rounds of .22 ammunition and two passports were also confiscated.

Provincial Police Commissioner Lt General Liziwe Ntshinga said the confiscation of these drugs and the arrests are certain to have an adverse effect on their trade in Port Elizabeth as well as in the Province.
