Man in court for allegedly raping his mentally disabled stepdaughter

A 45-year-old Mossel Bay man is due to appear in court today on two charges of raping his 24-year-old mentally disabled stepdaughter.

He was arrested at his home in Asla Park on Friday by members of Mossel Bay'S Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.

According to police it's alleged that the rapes took place in the man’s home while the victim’s mother was at work.

The victim’s version of what happened was confirmed by medical tests.

The man is expected to remain in custody pending a court date for a plea hearing.
