The three learners from a Mossel Bay school made their first court appearance on Wednesday in connection with the death of a fellow learner.
Sixteen-year-old Khuselo Ndanda died in hospital after being stabbed at Hillcrest Secondary School on Monday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, said that the three, aged between 17 and 18, were remanded in custody.
He said preliminary investigations had revealed that the trio had allegedly attacked Ndanda during the first break at the school, stabbing him several times in the upper body.
“After the vicious attack, the assailants jumped over the schoolyard fence at the back of the premises and ran away,” he said.
They were arrested on Tuesday.
Pojie said the teenagers were remanded in custody to 17 October when they are expected to bring a formal bail application.
