Arson probe in latest St Francis Bay fire

Police are investigating a case of arson in respect of Thursday’s devastating fire in St Francis Bay which gutted 11 houses.

Sergeant Majola Nkohli, said in a statement on Friday that they were “looking for two men who are believed to have been calming bees with smoke when the fire broke out”.

He said a woman alleges that she saw the two with a beehive in the open field behind Lyme Road North where the fire was reported.

Nkohli said she also reported that one of the men was dressed in blue overalls while the other was pushing a bicycle.

Police are urging anyone with information that could assist with their investigation to contact Detective Warrant Officer Lwazi Solombela at 071 475 1831.
