A Port Elizabeth woman was left traumatised after three assailants strangled her and tried to cut off her wedding ring from her finger.
Atlas Security reports that the home invasion took place at a house in Sunridge Park in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Operations Manager, Monty Montgomery, said that three balaclava-clad men kicked open the door to the house and pinned the 68-year-old complainant to the floor.
He says the woman suffered a bad cut to the finger as they tried to remove her wedding ring as well as bruises to the neck.
The assailants fled with jewellery and remain at large.
Police had attended to the scene.
