Man arrested for stealing car at Knysna petrol station

A 51-year-old man who allegedly stole a car at a Knysna Petrol station on Wednesday has been arrested.

Police Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says the driver parked her vehicle at the garage in Waterfront drive where she went into the shop to purchase something.

He says upon her return she saw her Toyota Fortuner leaving the courtyard and driving in the direction of George.

She immediately alerted authorities and within 30 minutes the vehicle was spotted by vigilant operators in the CCTV control room that is manned by Allsound Security.

The man was arrested and the vehicle recovered.

The 51-year-old will appear in court soon.
