EC woman shot dead in village

Eastern Cape police are investigating the murder of a 60-year-old woman who was shot dead in Ngamakhwe on Sunday evening.

Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said that the two men arrived at her homestead and pretended that they wanted a room to rent from her.

He said the two men requested to speak to the woman outside the house where one man drew a gun and shot the woman.

“The motive behind the cold-blooded murder is not known,” he said.

Manatha said that the identity of the deceased is still being withheld until all her family members are officially informed.
