Music producer DJ Cleo has come under fire after posting a text on his Instagram page stating that Zozibini Tunzi won the Miss SA pageant with a "R30 haircut".

The newly crowned Miss SA, who hails from the Eastern Cape originally, has been a much talked about choice with her natural short hair.

The stunning beauty was quickly defended by many arguing that this intelligent young woman winning Miss SA had nothing to do with her hair.

One commentator, Esethu Juqu said the following in response: “I believe the way she answered the questions and the way she presented herself throughout made her win. Her hair is a bonus and just so you guys know, under those wigs /weaves girls have hair cuts its just a matter of isgqhoko just like it is a matter of caps and hats kuni madoda. On that note congratulation once again @zozitunzi .

As the winner of the 2019 Miss SA pageant, Zozibini also walked away with R3 million in prize money and sponsorship deals. She will also represent South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant in December.
