ADASA - the Gqeberha Algoa FM Charity Golf Day beneficiary

Kaycee is joined by Eastern Cape representative, Dr Heather Rauch ahead of the GQ Algoa FM Charity Golf Day

Alzheimer’s South Africa NPC (ASA) was founded in 1985 as a non-profit organisation managed by a national executive council. The acronym ASA is also used for Athletics South Africa and therefore confused people with ASA (Alzheimer’s South Africa). People enquired if Alzheimer’s South Africa also included other types of dementia. As we do include all types of dementia, we changed our name to the Association for Dementia and Alzheimer’s of South Africa NPC (ADASA), as was registered at CIPC.

We are extremely grateful to be the beneficiary for the Gqeberha Algoa FM Charity Golf Day and invite you to get a team together and join us for this highly anticipated event on Thursday 12 June at the PE Golf Club. You are guaranteed fun, networking opportunities and of course you will be making a difference to those suffering from Alzheimer's. This high-profile golf day offers a unique way to support those in need while enjoying a memorable day on the greens.

Our Vision

ADASA aspires to be recognised as the foremost beacon of hope and innovation in dementia care. We envision a future where our association is the leader in creating an inclusive society that embraces and respects the inherent dignity and rights of every individual impacted by dementia, enabling them to thrive within their communities.

You have the Power to Educate Yourself About Dementia and Alzheimer's

Whether you are caring for someone who has the disease, have a friend or family member about whom you’re concerned, or if you – yourself – have been recently diagnosed, educating yourself is a critically important “weapon.” Too often, people dismiss the importance of dementia and Alzheimer’s education: “It’s not going to change the diagnosis … I’m better off not knowing what’s ahead … I can handle it. How hard can caregiving be …” Equipping yourself with information about dementia will dramatically improve your support and assistance as a caregiver, significant others, and the quality of life of the person with the disease.
