HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY

In celebration of Women's Day, Algoa FM brings you eleven women from all walks of life to share their perspective of what this significant day means to them as women in the 21st century.

Throughout this momentous occasion, we will be airing voice-notes of these phenomenal women which include the award-winning mountaineer and first black African woman to summit Mount Everest, Saray Khumalo. 

Part of the list is Leila Siljeur, a 2nd-year chemistry student at  Stellenbosch University and inventor of Eat-Me-Straws - a start-up company manufacturing straws from completely edible and biodegradable materials.
