
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is drafting an emergency drought plan that seeks to have the Metro declared a disaster area.
The Metro revealed some details of the plan today as the total combined capacity of the five supply dams drop to 38.5 percent.
Municipality spokesperson, Kupido Baron, says by declaring the Metro a disaster area that would enable the Municipality to apply for funding for a desalination plant, the purification of recycled water, drilling of boreholes and uprgrading infrastructure.
Meanwhile, an inter-faith prayer service for rain will be held on Thursday at the Nangoza Jebe Hall between 13h30 and 15h30.
